22 Days Until Mexico

Okay, this blog is dedicated to my 2 week trip to Aventura Spa Palace in Mexico. This is the first blog, and will not be added to until at least June 16, 2008 and thats if I have time to write while Im in Mexico. If not, Ill be writing when I return. So...look for more soon!

Aventura Spa Palace - August 2007

Day 1 & 2 June 15 & 16 2008

Last night we drove to Comfort Inn in Romulus, Michigan. Same one as last year. Room 306 with elf beds (they were tiny double beds). Amanda came to watch the dogs around 1:30pm on Sunday (6/15) and we left about 2:30om to go to Detroit. We got to Detroit around 5:30pm. We drove around looking for a place to eat dinner for Father's Day but every where had a wait of at least 1.5-2 hours. We were too hungry to wait that long so we went to our hotel and ate at the bar there. Very good food. =) We all went to bed by 9:00pm but only Richie slept well (of course). Now its about 3:45am. We've been up for about an hour. We're going to eat the free breakfast when it opens at 4am. Then off to the airport. Our flight is 708 on USA3000 at 7am. We should be in Cancun by 9:40am.

Okay, its probably about 10:00pm Mexico time. We are at ASP!! Yay!! After our flight landed at about 9:10am (early mind you) we goton the bus to ASP through Elite Transportation. We arrived at our hotel around 11am. Check in was a breeze. Over to MoMoNoHana. They still had breakfast going on until 11:30am. Food was pretty picked over, but we ate anyways...we were so hungry. We ate a little bit and then went to the pool bar for the famous nachos we love so much. Oh and drinks of course. Finally at 12:30 or so our rooms were ready. We're in room 2408 which is 2 rooms down from the room we had last year. Mom and Dad are in room 3427. Good room but not as nice of a view. Then we showered, unpacked and napped until dinner at 6pm. We ate at Mundaca. They still have excellent corn cream soup. Oh and yummy meat pie appetizers. Everyone enjoyed their dinner at Mundaca.
Afterwards we went to the Mexican show in the South Lobby. Dad and Mom really liked it. It was boring to Me and Richie. haha. We bought these awesome hand painted tiles for $18 each and watched Enrique paint them. Very cool. Dad hurt his back lifting luggage back in Detroit so Richie took him to his room. Mom, Richie and I went to Sweet & Coffee for yummy crepes. Then back to the room for sleep.

Dolphin Discovery tomorrow =)

Day 3- June 17, 08

Today we went to Dolphin Discovery. It was so fun! We did the Royal Swim Plus got the Sea Lions and Manatees for FREE. It cost $149 per person. The Sea Lions were really a surprise we didnt know we'd get to swim with them too.

We ate breakfast at Mundaca. It was very good. We were at Dolphin Discovery from 12:00 to about 4:00. It was a long day. Then we came back to the hotel and had snacks at the pool bar because we didnt eat lunch while we were at DD. Went back to the room then out again for MoMoNoHana for dinner. It was way better than last year. Then we went to the gift shop and got some cool T-Shirts in the 4 for $20 section. We sat around at Casino Night which was pretty lame but Richie had fun playing black jack. It was also noisey. Then we went to Sweet & Coffee for dessert #2 =). Now we are back in the room to sleep and rest our sun burned bodies.

Oh yeah...we saw "Kitty" Our black and white kitty from last year. We were so happy to see him/her again this year.

Day 4 - June 18, 2008

Well today was a hotel day. We went to MoMoNoHana for breakfast. Then we went to the indoor pool. Richie and I got really bored there because Mom and Dad were afraid of the sun...so we went to the North Pool. It was a lot more fun. We had lunch at El Greco. We then went back to our room and changed and went to the North Lobby to play a game of Rummy. Then we were so tired we decided to take naps. We got ready and went to La Trattoria for dinner. Then to the awesome fire show. Awesome!

We had a cute little cake in our room for our 3rd anniversary. Mom and Dad got one too, for theirs, but there was ants all over it before they got to eat it. =(

Day 5 - June 19, 2008

Today we went toXcaret. It rained a little today but luckily it was before and after Xcaret. We had breakfast at MoMoNoHana then went to Xcaret. It was HOT. But we got to see baby sea turtles and lots of cool things. The tickets were $62.10 each which we bought online and were 10% off. We had lunch at a place in Xcaret which was $48 plus tip. It was expensive for Hot Dogs and Hamburgers. Then we went back to the hotel and took a nap. We ate dinner at Ventanas which was very good. We played cards in the South Lobby then we went to Sweet & Coffee. Now we're in the room watching TV. Off to bed soon.

Hotel day again tomorrow....Also the Kitchen Tour. =)

Day 6 - June 20,08

Today was a hotel day. We went to El Greco for breakfast then swam at the North Pool most of the afternoon. We has lunch at Mundaca and it was horible because there was a Loreal conention there with 750 some people. We went from 30% occupancy to 72% occupancy. Then we got ready and went on the Kitchen Tour. It was totally awesome. We learned so much about ASP. After the kitchen tour we went to La Huerta for dinner. Then we went to the Circus Show which was really stupid. Then we went to Sweet & Coffee. Now its time for bed...tomorrow we're off to Playa Del Carmen.

Day 7- June 21, 2008

Today we got up and hand MoMoNoHana for breakfast. We took a taxi to Playa Del Carmen and went shopping there. It was $17 each way. We were there all day long. I got my picture taken with a cute monkey. Came back to the resort around 6:30pm. Went to feed kitty while Richie took a shower. Then got ready for dinner at Mundaca. After that we played cards until Midnight. Mom and Dad's last full day is tomorrow. =(

Time for bed...its almost 2am.
